Understanding and Supporting Children's Behaviour with Sue Hyde

This workshop will be a refresher for Extended Hours Educators. We will be identifying the behaviours that educators need help with. We will then develop a set of common understandings about this behaviour, and in particular the impact of trauma on children in extended hours care.

What might the child be communicating with this behaviour? How can we better respond to the behaviour, to support the child? Our responses may need to consider, our behaviour, our communication, our environment and routines. Are we meeting the needs of the child to feel supported, included and what other actions may we need to take?
